Welcome!
Our regular Troop 720 meetings are Monday Nights - 7:00 to 8:30 at Terrace Elementary School, Richardson, Texas, 75081 (map directions). Next meeting is Feb. 15.
Spring Fundraiser
It's time for our Spring Fundraiser. This year we are focusing on a Greener Community.
Scouts will home deliver bags of Fertilizer and Compost, just as in past years. We have bags of Weed & Feed, Fertilizer, Organic Fertilizer, Compost, and Mulch.
We're also promoting a Greener Lifestyle this year by offering (a) books on Texas Organic and Square Foot Gardening and (b) home delivery (Pickup Truck size loads) of Planting Soil, Compost, and Mulch.
Education is an important part of our fundraising mission. That's why we have books on "how to do it". Square Foot Gardening shows how almost anyone can set up a simple, productive vegtable garden. Texas can be a challenging place to garden - but can also be a place to garden YEAR 'ROUND. So we have books specifically about Texas Organic Gardening.
Square Foot Gardening has been adopted by millions of people around the world. In just a small 4'x4' space, one can start growing vegtables to complement a family's food needs. We want to help get this message out by offering books and showing on our site how to do this.... and provide links if you want to know more. Square Foot Gardening can be about 5x as productive as traditional row gardens - and can be extended in size and vertically. Seeing Watermelons, Cantalopes, Squash, and Cucumbers growing vertically on a 4' to 7' frame can be an amazing sight!
We are making home deliveries of Pickup Truck size loads of soil and compost to people who want to give SFG a try. Our book offering is to help provide education to get to GET YOUR GARDEN started!
Our Fundraiser
Our Scouts will begin delivering bags, books, and pickup truck loads to addresses in the 75080, 75081, and Adjacent Zip Codes on Feb. 27. We appreciate your donations and time. By delivering to your address, this is just a part of our thanks.
Your contributions and the money we raise will stay within Troop 720 and will be used for our Scouting Activities. Check out the Photo Album for past Troop 720 Adventures.
